  • Lorena Mendez-Quiroga

    Mrs. Mendez-Quiroga is the Founder and Executive Director of Magnolia Rose Films & Publishing. She is a documentary filmmaker based in Los Angeles whose body of work has focused on social justice causes and she has been engaged in issues for several years as an activist, television producer and documentary filmmaker. She is a current member of the Writers Guild of America, Women in Film, the International Documentary Association, NALIP and NAHJ. View More.

  • Gus Quiroga

    Mr. Quiroga was the executive producer of the documentary Border Echoes and wrote and performed the theme song Juarez Woman. He is also an executive producer for our current documentary project, ‘Emma: Love Beyond Borders.’ Mr. Quiroga has been a working musician and songwriter for the last forty years. He co-founded Magnolia Rose Films & Publishing, which focuses on producing human rights films and stories with social justice causes at the forefront. He champions those who strive for self improvement. Specifically he is focused on presenting solutions for how to arrive at a humane immigration reform, saving our planet, and encouraging others to lead fulfilled lives in search of happiness and contentment.

  • DOLORES GILMAN

    Ms. Gilman has been awarded six Emmys for her work as photojournalist and investigative producer with CBS News for the last thirty years, covering all manner of major news events in those years. Her coverages has included, among other notable events, The Los Angeles Riots, 1994 Northridge Earthquake, the Malibu Fires, The O.J. Simpson Murder Trial, ongoing issues related to Climate Change, police brutality cases, and local city politics in Los Angeles. She has covered countless stories about the immigration crisis in the U.S. Mexico border and traveled all over Central America and South America covering human interest stories. Ms. Gilman first interviewed Emma Paulsen and her family in 2017.

  • ROBERT VARELA

    Mr. Varela is an award winning photojournalist who worked at KTTV-Fox 11 News in Los Angeles for over fifteen years. His focus has been covering breaking news stories, sports such as boxing and covering the L.A. Lakers games and championship games. A native of El Paso, Texas, he has covered numerous immigration stories affecting both sides of the border, working at various news stations along the border. Including deported veterans now living in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. Mr. Varela has worked with Magnolia Rose Films capturing the immigration refugee crisis of asylum seekers in both Tijuana, Mexico and Ciudad Juarez, Mexico.

  • GARRETT STONER

    Mr. Stoner is an independent award winning journalist who has produced twenty documentaries and special interest stories over the last twenty five years. Mostly focused on the history of California and specifically as a historian revisiting the 1920’s,1930’s and the Golden Age of Hollywood. Mr. Stoner has worked with Magnolia Rose Films & Publishing, traveling in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico and Tijuana, Mexico while following the Emma Paulsen story.ption goes here

  • DAVE BLAND

    David Bland is a highly creative Video Editor/Producer with a passion for storytelling to produce unique and engaging video content with a deep understanding of the post production workflow. David brings over 30 years experience in the LA market as an editor/producer working in broadcast news, entertainment and sports.

    In addition, he has experience in marketing by creating polished sizzle reels and brand awareness campaigns for advertising and corporate clients. David is fluent in Avid Media Composer, Apple Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro as well as After Effects, Photoshop and Adobe Creative Cloud.
